We had really thought that we could never go on a major lighthouse trip again, due to finances and age, physical condition.  But a chance presented itself and we went, and with a lot of help, we didn't even need to max out our credit cards.

Last Fall I was able to get together with my sisters in Denver for my 70th birthday.  Coming home I took a bump on AirTran, had to spend the night in Atlanta and was rewarded with two roundtrip tickets.  I had been hoping to go to Maine one more time.

Then our friends Tom and Darlene Chisholm who we have traveled with often before, said they would drive to Portland ME and meet us.  Then Tim and Kathy of Lighthouse Digest offered the hospitality of their home in Maine for a few days.  We were able to go out to Little River Lighthouse and have a picnic in the keepers house.  The four of us also spent 4 days scanning archival lighthouse photos for Lighthouse Digest.  We love doing this.  It is so important that old photos and documents be digitized and saved.

We went on to Prince Edward Island to stay at The Lighthouse Lovers Vacation home and travel the Island with Carol Livingstone and visit every one of the 63 lighthouses of PEI.  I have put up a list of the lighthouses, and as I get time, will start showing the photos we took.

Prince Edward Island is just beautiful and especially so in the Fall.  A person could spend weeks just driving around, exploring the little harbors and byways.  We were so lucky to be able to go.

I have to tell you The Lighthouse Lovers Vacation Home was a wonderful place to stay.  It's a beautiful big welcoming house with lots of space.  Carol and Wayne Livingstone are wonderful hosts.  If it is lobster season, you might be able to buy lobster from the lobsterman (Wayne) at a terrific price.  (I had 7 lobsters while we were there.  Not all at once of course).
